Folding
@Home

Folding-at-home is a distributed computing project for simulating protein dynamics simulating the movements (ie. folding) of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. The project allows everyday computer users to donate their spare computing power to help disease researchers understand more about cancer, ALS, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Influenza, Covid-19 and more.

By installing the Folding-at-home client on your computer, your computer's CPU and GPU will run complex simulations, all whilst you browse the web, watch videos or do work. The data your computer's simulations generate, along with those of hundreds-of-thousands of others, combine to build powerful datasets which would take researchers years, or millions of dollars to emulate on dedicated servers.

Help fight COVID-19!

Folding-at-home is running dedicated simulations to back worldwide efforts to assist in identifying ways to treat and stop Covid-19. Research teams are running simulations not only to better understand the how the proteins of SARS-CoV-2 operate, but simulating the effects of existing treatments and drugs to speed up the discovery of life-saving therapies for Covid-19.
